New YG.com Database Supports Final Fantasy XI

Published 26th April 2010

LAS VEGAS, NV. [April 19, 2010] – YG.com, a leading provider of Internet gaming and online community tools, has launched its newest database for Final Fantasy XI (FFXI).

FFXI, the first online incarnation of Square Enix's Final Fantasy series of games, was released in Japan in 2002 and in North America in 2003. After enticing 200,000 subscribers within the first year, the number of active game characters has increased steadily to its current population of 2 million.

YG.com employed the company’s extensive research capabilities and best programming practices behind its FFXI database. Online gamers who have come to appreciate and prefer the quality of YG.com’s Age of Conan and Aion databases will find that the FFXI addition to the network has the makings of the go-to resource for improving and enhancing in-game experience.

With today's game players always trying to maximize their time and resources – wanting to learn a craft in game or to take full advantage of their Gil (the game’s main currency) to acquire best weapons or some rare items – detailed and well-organized databases are becoming absolute essentials.

YG.com’s FFXI item database contains information about weapons, armor, consumables, and other items found in the game’s fantasy world, Vana’diel. It also provides syndication tools for users' websites – item tooltips, YG FFXI search box, and a browser plug-in that allows anyone to search YG.com’s FFXI database straight from their browsers.

YG.com’s FFXI database is also fully multi-lingual, catering to players comfortable with the English, German, French, or Japanese languages.

“We're always looking to create helpful databases for MMORPG players,” said Brian Higby, YG.com chief technology officer.

“It made a lot of sense for us to make one for a game such as long withstanding as Final Fantasy XI. We're starting out with an item database for now, but we will continue to work on more features to add to this new FFXI database,” he maintained.
