Professional PC gamers and VIA Chrome Ambassadors ‘girlz 0f destruction’ to demo digital entertainment lifestyle at E3 Expo in LA...
Taipei, Taiwan, May 9 2006 - VIA Technologies, Inc, a leading innovator and developer of silicon chip technologies and PC platform solutions today announced a scaled-down version of the digital showcase “Home of Chrome” will be recreated at E3 Expo 2006 this week, in Kentia Hall, meeting room 7209.
The real Home of Chrome, located in Sweden, is as an eSports training facility for VIA Chrome Ambassadors the girlz 0f destruction and other competitive PC gamers, as well as a showcase for VIA’s digital lifestyle partner products, including gaming PCs, notebooks and UMPC platform based products.

During E3, the girlz 0f destruction will be fighting head-to-head on VIA K8T900-based systems featuring dual S3 Graphics Chrome S27 Graphics cards running in parallel thanks to S3 Graphics MultiChrome technology. The VIA K8T900 chipset is VIA’s premium offering for the high performance AMD platform, providing support for a complete range of AMD 64 processors as well as expanded connectivity to support dual graphic card configurations.
The girlz 0f destruction will also be demonstrating the latest in digital lifestyle devices, the Ultra Mobile PC (UMPC) - delivering the functionality of the PC in an ultra-compact handheld device. VIA leverages extensive experience with efficient computing to create the most highly integrated and power friendly platform in the UMPC market. With a touch-screen, wireless connectivity, and running Microsoft® Windows® XP Tablet Edition, the UMPC is challenging our perceptions of the PC.
